Spartan Race on NBC Sports 12/7

I know I've written about the Spartan race before, but this event is just way too cool
and deserves another post. How awesome does this look?

Could you imagine the straight euphoria of crossing this finish line?

From their website:

Spartan Race is on a mission to get you active, healthy, excited about change, and return to our ancient roots where running through woods, getting dirty, and facing adversity was part of everyday life. Our events are all about challenging today’s perception of normal.

Our events challenge the familiar, today’s perception of normal living and getting you out of your comfort zone! At Spartan Race, we do this everyday and it shapes everything we do.

Having experienced many different racing events, we wanted to make adventure racing more accessible to everyone, but do not be fooled by the word ‘accessible’, as our events have a challenge for everyone’s needs.

Spartan Race now introduces a level for everyone beginning with the entry level Spartan Sprint, intermediate level Super Spartan, the advanced Spartan Beast, and the ‘99.9% need not apply’ extreme level Death Race.

Whatever your level, Spartan Race will test your strength, stamina, and sense of humor.

If you're interest has peaked then check it out on tv.
December 7th, NBC Sports will be broadcasting the World Championship Spartan Race

Healthy Me/Happy Me

Ok I am getting serious.
I haven't had any motivation lately to do anything.
Smoothies and TurboFire have taken the back seat since Sam died.
I never officially completed the Sit-Ups challenge.

But as I deal with all sorts of mental struggles, I've realized that
I need to focus on taking care of myself to find that Happy Me again.

I'm going to the gym today.
This is huge. I don't remember the last time I set foot in a gym!
Our base community center has a free cardio room for us to use and
they even have a separate room where the kids can play, with windows
so we can see them the entire time.

I'm super excited about going and I've decided to try to C25K program.
I will start that today!

I've also committed myself to a 10 day Shakeology challenge with my
Beachbody coach Rikka. I obviously don't need to lose weight but I am
horrible at eating breakfast. I drink coffee and go on with my day. I know
breakfast is super important for you so I'm hoping that using Shakeology as
a breakfast meal replacement will give me a better start to my day and the
vitamins and superfoods its packed with helps my mind and energy levels.

I will report back to you after these 10 days and let you know how I feel.
I start that tomorrow!

The absolute hardest thing about all of this is changing my eating habits.
For the next 10 days, at least, I need to really pay attention to what I eat.
That is part of the challenge that I agreed to. No soda, no alcohol, no
fast food. The only thing I've got going for me here is that my husband is
studying nutrition science and will be on my butt about it every day!

Sooo wish me luck with all of these new adventures!

If you want to join me in any of these challenges, let me know! I can let you
know when Rikka does her next Shakeology challenge and we can keep
eachother motivated with workouts and eating right! That's what best friends are for!

Here's Some Motivation For You!

On Sunday I went to a home party thrown by Ms. Rikka,
a friend of a friend who recently signed up as a Team Beachbody coach.

The party was a "Shake and Share" where we got to learn a little
bit about the products Beachbody sells, the purpose behind
the business, how to get ourselves on the right track to health and
wellness, and learn about their Shakeology health shake.

Rikka shared her personal story with us as well as some before and
after photos of her own transformation. She signed up with Team Beachbody
to help other people achieve these same goals in their lives.

She showed us previews of some of the workouts Beachbody offers
and we got to taste the different Shakeology flavors. I must say, I loved
the chocolate one. It tasted like a rich, thick, chocolate shake mmmm.
(And vegan options available!)

The amount of vitamins and superfoods that are packed into each shake
is crazy! By replacing one meal a day with Shakeology it will help curb
cravings, promote weight loss, increase energy levels, improve digestion,
support your immune system and support cardiovascular health.

They are so sure that you will notice a difference in your health that they
offer an Empty Bag Guarantee. If you are not satisfied within 30 days, you can
return it for a full refund, even if you're returning an empty bag!

I was very interested in the Challenge Packs Team Beachbody offers.
P90X, Insanity, TurboFire (that's what I ordered) and more.
With the Challenge Packs you get the workout DVDs, you get a nutrition
plan, you get a workout calendar, you get a 30-day supply of Shakeology,
you get a 30-day membership to the Team Beachbody Club (discounts,
online support, message boards, personalized meal plans, live chats
with the trainers, etc) and a bunch of other stuff to keep you on track.

There is soooo much offered by Beachbody, you will have to check
it out for yourself. A huge selection of workout DVDs, supplements,
gear, even skincare! I wanted to help Rikka in her new venture which is
why I'm posting this blog. As a coach her job is to inspire you, motivate
you and hold you accountable. I know Rikka would love to help you so
whether your goal is weight loss or to live healthier, sign up online
to create a profile and join her team!

 Ms. Rikka herself, go girl!

OH and check out the Kale Chip recipe on her FB page. She served
these at the party and they were sooo good! Crunchy like potato chips
but so much better for you!

200 Sit Up Challenge

www.twohundredsitups.com

I've been trying to complete this program for years.
I've never been successful but I've gotten pretty close.

The claim is that anyone, no matter what shape you're in,
will successfully be able to do 200 sit ups by the end of six weeks.

You start by taking an initial test to see how many consecutive
sit ups you can already do. This determines your place in the program.

Then you follow the directions on the site to figure out which
plan fits your abilities. You can also log your workouts
and track your progress.

It is pretty simple to figure out and its even easier with
their phone app, which includes a reminder so you don't forget!
(my downfall)

If you really need some accountability, you can use the site
to post your progress on Facebook for the whole world to see.

I have a goal to officially complete this challenge.
Starting Monday...lol
Who's with me?
